Bookish Superlatives

So, yeah, I realise this is really late. But whatever. Better late than never I suppose. Without further ado, let's get started! I'm only going to be doing the Books section of the survey. I'll probably do the characters section at some later date.
(Oh, this survey was another fun survey made by Jaime at The Perpetual Page-Turner)

Books

Most Likely To Make You Cry
Come on. The answer to this HAS to be The Fault in Our Stars! That ending letter. *sniffles*

Dares To Be Different (in world, plot, storytelling, etc.)
Earth Girl. This book was really unique! Don't think I've read a YA novel remotely similar!

Best Dressed (pretty cover!)
Any book in the Shatter Me series. So pretty...so dang pretty...

Most Likely To Make You Swoon
My Life Next Door. Jase is damn fine ;)

Loveliest Prose
The Elegance of the Hedgehog. This book was very stream of consciousness, and there are so many awesome quotes. One of my favourites: "pity the poor in spirit who know neither the enchantment nor the beauty of language"

Most Likely To Be A Favorite Of 2013
GAH! This is such a hard question...There are WAY too many books that can fit this category, so I shall just direct you to my Panacea Candidates shelf on Goodreads ;) For the first half of the year and for the second half of the year so far.

Most Likely To Change The World (or change your life)
Perhaps Harry Potter. It changed the way people viewed children's/young adult novels. And it's amazing, so if you haven't read it yet, you need to. ASAP.

Book You Are Most Likely To Keep Putting Off
Gone Girl. Or Code Name Verity. Not even sure why. They've been on my TBR for aaaaages!

Most Likely To End Up As Christmas Gifts For Everyone You Know
The Fault in Our Stars. Again.

Most Likely To Be Thrown
Prince of Wolves. Although that's only an ebook, so you can't technically throw it, I throw it in spirit. Incidentally, it's one of our horcruxes.

Most Likely To Be Reread More Than Once
Speechless. I've reread this so many times, it's actually ridiculous. Chantelle will tell you haha.

Most Likely To Make You Read Through An Earthquake Because It’s THAT Engrossing
Dangerous Girls. The entire time you just really really want to find out what da heck is happening and who the killer is.

Most Likely To Be Passed On To Your Children
Harry Potter. Of course ;)

Most Likely To Break Your Heart Into A Million Pieces
FREAKING THE FAULT IN OUR STARS YET AGAIN!

Most Likely To Brighten Up Your Day
The Distance Between Us was really cute! And the love interest was so swoony!

What are your bookish superlatives?

  2. This is a lovely post! TFioS is definitely a book that will make most anyone cry. I haven't read Earth Girl, but it definitely seems unique. I think that the Shatter Me series could also fit under the Dares to be Different Category because the prose and writing style are very unique. (I think the strikeouts are something I have never seen in a book before.) My Life Next Door is so swoon-worthy. Did you know there will be a companion coming out? It's from Tim's perspective. Speechless is most certainly worth of a reread. After finishing it, I just kept flipping back through it for days.

  5. I have yet to read The Fault in Our Stars, but am pretty sure I'll be crying as well. Interesting. I think the MC of Earth Girl was waay too perfect. (I still totally want to get the next book just for the cover.)
Oh yes, the 'eye' covers of Shatter Me are simply stunning. "Book You Are Most Likely To Keep Putting Off Gone Girl. Or Code Name Verity" Same. "Most Likely To Be Thrown - Prince of Wolves." Let's throw it together, on the count of three. One, two... *adds Speechless to her tbr*

    1. What da heck why are there so many people who haven't read TFIOS?! READITREADITREADITREADITREADIT!

The Earth Girl covers are really pretty :) They look so awesome on the shelf next to each other. Yeah, I suppose the MC was a bit too perfect.

OMG You've read Prince of Wolves? It's such an abomination...biggest waste of my time. I can't believe there are 7 books in that series...

  7. Grrrr. Out of all the books you mentioned here, Harry Potter is the only one I've read. Shatter Me and The Distance Between Us is already on my TBB list though.

As for TFIOS, I'm still building up the courage to even consider reading it. ;P
