Stacking the Shelves (The I Love HarperCollins Edition)

Okay, this haul is going to be rather large, but it's only going to include the HarperCollins eARCS received from Edelweiss in the last two or three weeks. Yes, you heard me correctly, EDELWEISS FINALLY APPROVED ME FOR SOMETHING. It seems that I've been whitelisted for all the HarperCollins titles, which is incredibly exciting! They have so many great titles, so I may have gone a bit wild hehe. Anyway, here it is:

Avalon by Mindee Arnett
LOOK AT THAT COVER. It's so awesome. Also this book is sci-fi. That was enough to make me grab it haha.

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge
I've actually already read this one and it was absolutely incredible. Mostly because the world building was so epic. Also, yet another beautiful cover :3

Dear Killer by Katherine Ewell
Assassin protagonist? Exploration of the line between good and evil? BABY I'M THERE.

Death Sworn by Leah Cypess
Another assassin book! I'm just always pulled in by dem assassins.

Elusion by Claudia Gabel and Cheryl Klam
Sci-fi again. I sense a pattern arising here...haha

Faking Normal by Courtney C Stevens
The synopsis sounds so gooood. A quiet and awkward love interest? YES.

Her Dark Curiosity by Megan Shepherd
I really liked The Madman's Daughter, so I'm interested to see what new villains the author can whip up in the sequel!

House of Ivy and Sorrow by Natalie Whipple
I do believe this one is about witches, but I know next to nothing else about it. Okay, the cover was the thing that made me request it; so shoot me.

Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi
Why of COURSE I'm going to request this one! And yeah, I've totally already read it. Definitely slightly sad that the series is over. I want to see more of these amazing characters.

Panic by Lauren Oliver
I loved Delirium (only the first book- the others were just "likes") so I'm interested to see what Oliver will do with a new series about fear instead of love.

Salvage by Alexandra Duncan
SCIFI. That is all.

Sea of Shadows by Kelley Armstrong
I've never read any of her YA series, and wanted to give one a go.

Warrior by Ellen Oh
I know a lot of people found Prophecy a bit lacklustre, but I actually quite enjoyed it. We'll see where Ellen goes with this one. (The cover of this one isn't shown because I had 13 images, and 12 kind of fits better, so Warrior got shoved aside. Sorry, buddy.)

Sorry not sorry for downloading so many titles. What else did you expect Harper? :P
I've read a few of the titles, since I just couldn't wait to read them, but the reviews probably won't be coming until the end of this year/start of next year.

What books have you guys gotten recently? Any titles here that interest you?

  1. Good on you for getting auto-approved! Looks like you picked up some absolutely awesome reads! I haven't ventured into Edelweiss yet, I fear it will be bad for my already growing review pile. So jealous for you getting Panic and Sea of Shadows!

    Avalon sounds good - I like sci-fi.

Faking Normal is new to me, but it sounds like something I'd enjoy.

    1. I know right! I'd always gotten rejected and had pretty much given up but then I randomly got approved for Avalon and Cruel Beauty (those were the two I had originally requested) and went on Edelweiss and realised I could download all of them!
Congrats to you for getting approved too :D

  9. YAY!!! I got auto-approved for all of HC's titles as well! When I first realized it, my jaw literally dropped, and then I proceeded to do a happy dance which probably looked more like a seizure. BUT WHO CARES. It's nice to see that things are looking better for the both of us in Edelweiss now; publishers on there used to hate me. Maybe they still do. :P But anyway, I can't wait for your thoughts on all of these! You have to admit that HC has some of the prettiest covers in the market. They're always one-of-a-kind and so beautiful.

    Great haul!

I hope you like Sea of Shadows. Kelley Armstrong's writing is very enjoyable.

    1. I am indeed reading ALL THE BOOKS!!! All of them just sound so awesome :D

How good does Dear Killer sound! It'll be interesting reading about an assassin in a contemporary setting rather than in a high fantasy!

I've read Bitten by Kelley Armstrong, and thought that was fairly good. it was one of her adult novels, though, so we'll see how her YA series go :)

  16. Haha, I had this edition over two weeks, since I was auto-approved. I tried to be good. It just wasn't happening. I haven't picked up Avalon yet, trying to squeeze it in somewhere. I'm hopefully starting Cruel Beauty soon, so, glad to hear it's good! So many pretty covers! I'm totally In love with Elusion, but Dear Killer- the synopsis brought me in all on it's own.

    Happy reading! :)

  17. Wohoo! I almost died of excitement when Harper Teen whitelisted me for their titles, but then I started to pretty much drown under all their ARCs and most of the ones I was reading were not that great. :(
However, I'm super excited about Into the Still Blue and Deathsworn!
    Enjoy your lovely books! :)

  19. Nara, thank you for bringing to my attention this whitelisting. I didn't know that Edelweiss also has the auto-approved function of NG. I didn't realize that I got whitelisted for all Harper Collins title until I read your comment on my STS. I checked Edelweiss and good god, I can DL all titles under HP. Sure, it's a dream come true but would I be able to read them all?

As you know, I also also got some of the same titles as yours but I'm contemplating to DL more. Help me. Hahaha. With so many titles up for grabs, I wish I was someone who don't need any sleep.

    1. haha no problem Charlotte! I didn't know I'd been whitelisted either, but then I went to browse and I COULD DOWNLOAD EVERYTHING. Clearly I went wild :P

Download them all! You have plenty of time to read them because they all come out next year, some even as late as March and April!

  21. I know this post is old, but out of curiosity, how do you know if a publisher has whitelisted you? Do you get a notification? Or do you just notice that you can suddenly download review copies instead of needing to request them?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I didn't get a notification myself, and I know that a lot of other blogger friends haven't either. Basically, you just go on the site and see that all the titles from those particular publishers have the green "download" button rather than "request".

      Hope that helps!

      Delete
    2. Thank you, Nara! That does help! I think I got auto-approved for another publisher, but I wasn't quite sure. Now I'm thinking maybe I did. Yippee!
