The Breakfast Club meets Pretty Little Liars in Gretchen McNeil’s witty and suspenseful novel about four disparate girls who join forces to take revenge on high school bullies and create dangerous enemies for themselves in the process.

Bree, Olivia, Kitty, and Margot have nothing in common—at least that’s what they’d like the students and administrators of their elite private school to think. The girls have different goals, different friends, and different lives, but they share one very big secret: They’re all members of Don’t Get Mad, a secret society that anonymously takes revenge on the school’s bullies, mean girls, and tyrannical teachers.

When their latest target ends up dead with a blood-soaked “DGM” card in his hands, the girls realize that they’re not as anonymous as they thought—and that someone now wants revenge on them. Soon the clues are piling up, the police are closing in . . . and everyone has something to lose.

Get Even is one deliciously scandalous book. There are so many mysteries which had me completely hooked. It's the type of book you have to keep reading- extremely difficult to put down because you must. Find out. What happens. Next.

There are four points of view, but this was handled quite well by McNeil. Honestly, all the POVs were equally as interesting and the next, so there wasn't any particular section I was skimming through. Margot, Olivia, Bree and Kitty each have their individual stories- complete with romances and shady pasts- but these stories intertwine to contribute to the overarching plot line.

All of the characters have these dark backgrounds which are revealed over the course of the novel- some darker and juicier than others. While some of these secrets were pretty obvious, some were definitely unexpected, which is always a bonus. Each story also has a touch of romance, which I actually quite liked. It wasn't too dominating, and none of them were instaloves (although there were two love triangles).

Unfortunately, Get Even ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. By which I mean MAJOR GRABBY HANDS FOR THE NEXT BOOK. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes drama and scandal filled mystery/thrillers.

Really liked it
